            Those trip computers are never accurate either. I had to bring my 2015 Volkswagen Jetta in one time to get its check engine light ran before I bought my own.

            Apparently they had a code stored in the system where the vehicle had reached maximum speed. I was like nah, I don’t drive that thing faster than 70 MPH. I don’t even know how fast it goes.


            I wouldn’t really be mad if someone drove my car 100 MPH anyways. Speed doesn’t beat up your car, acceleration does.

                So the moral of the story is to lie to a customer now to calm him down and to prevent yourself from getting into situations where you will need to lie to customers in the future. However, if the customer doesn't notice what happened to his vehicle then no lie is necessary and your local upholsterer can continue to abuse your customers vehicles for his own personal pleasure. I guess the lesson we can all take home is that contrary to popular belief you can trust your local dealer's service department!! Merry Christmas everybody!

                  So the dealer was charging for a new seat cover when he got a panel patched so the other side splits in 6 mo to a year.

                          I had my car need some body work after an accident. I reset some things in my car so I could see how much they drove it and how hard. I told them don’t take it off the lot as it didn’t need to be. I get it back and it has 3 miles on it and my boost gauge was maxed out meaning someone took it for a joy ride.

                          I went in and said look I don’t want anyone fired, and I can’t 100% show who did it. But your employees are taking customers cars for joy rides you may want to put a lid on that before they wreck or cause damages to someone’s car. They played dumb and asked why would I do such things as reset my trip etc...... i just looked at them and said “for this exact reason as I knew you idiots may try to take it for a joy ride”

                              This doesn't make sense. Yeah too much warranty work raises a red flag. But if it's legit warranty work like this the car maker would pay for it. But if you're sending it out to get work like this the dealer is on the hook for the bill instead of having the car maker pay for it as they should. Something doesn't make sense about this lol

                                        It depends if you buy a GM or not. Your in for a screwing by the GM folks. I’d encourage my service techs to drive my Denali at 98 mph , that way they can get the real feels for my fantastic famous Chevy shake.

                                            So, shady? Yeah, thought so. Just FYI, for a trip computer to show an AVERAGE speed of 100+ MPH, that car had to be driven at much higher speeds, for very long periods of time considering the put-putting around on the lot that it had to also be doing.

                                                                    We can make it right by having a new set of brake pads and rotors replaced, change the engine oil, tire inspection and rotation. If the tires have any wear that resembles burning out, then you can add in a set of tires. Otherwise, firing people means shit to me. the hell with what hector has or doesn't have or who gets yelled at. Replace the parts that suffer the most amount of abuse when you drive and brake at fast and excessive speeds.

                                                                      Customers that don't care about the people trying to serve them, especially when they had nothing to do with their treatment are the absolute worst customers and deserve the least good treatment. I agree, replace the parts that received excess wear but not caring if someone loses their job when it can be as simple as learning their lesson is ridiculous. Respect is a two-way street. I had a customer who said, "I don't care about the dealership, or you, I am not here to serve, I am in it for me, and my best deal." I did my best to shaft him the best I could. The kind sweet understanding people, by all means always got the best deals. Some of those kind people were buying cars for thousands under book. The ass holes, I didn't feel one bit guilty if they were $5k tipped after they left the lot. Because respect is a two-way road, and it takes you a lot farther.

                                                                              As a former GM Shop Foreman, Warranty admin, and regular guy, if I was the customer I would have been more pissed that I didn't get a new oem seat bottom cushion, and seat cover.

                                                                              The Stealership is shady, I have never worked at one that wouldn't defraud their own customers, General Motors, or their own Mother. I'm willing to bet you still charged GM for the OEM seat cover, made $600 extra, and screwed the poor tech on the warranty time. All the while those "managed expenses" went right into your pocket along with the CSI bonus the tech earned.

                                                                                I call BS on you being a former GM shop forman or warrenty admin because you'd know there would have to be an invoice for the new seat cover for that to work. And what poor tech? That 3rd party company the job went to isn't doing free work. And the damaged part is being replaced. You really want to press your luck with something that isn't actually a manufacturing defect when the end result is just as good?

                                                                                  I just changed the cabin and intake air filter on my wife's tucson, cost around $30 for both filters and 5mins for install. Seriously the easiest in take filter ever to change. I took it in today for her free oil change, and a SA came to the guy next to me with a dirty cabin/intake filter. I shit you not, they told him $40 for the cabin and $60 for the intake. When he agreed to have them do it I almost shit myself.

                                                                                    Service advisor here, figured I’d weigh in. I’ve got lots of interesting stories but one of the worst is when a customer accused me of “hot-rodding” his Focus RS when delivering it back to him. I of course did no such thing but it’s his word against mine. Being accused of mistreating a customer’s vehicle sucks. That’s one of several reasons why I would never ever do such a thing. Ugh.

                                                                                        What a sh*tty dealership. The douche of a shop manager did nothing to rectify the situation. This is why, to this day, I do ALL my own maintenance on all 26 vehicles I have owned over the last 10 years. Most dealers are SHADY!
